Our Environment

We take a systemic approach to address environmental challenges, which means we focus on preventing and mitigating risks rather than just eliminating. Our focus is on ensuring that our operations do not cause any harm to the environment or people, which is reflected in our day-to-day practices, from reducing waste to conserving energy.

We seek to manage our environmental footprint transparently and ethically in the interests of our stakeholders, including our clients, employees, investors, and the communities in which we operate, and we expect our contractors and business partners to share our commitment to the protection of the environment. We set high standards for environmental protection and work closely with our contractors to ensure they adhere to these standards. If we identify any hazardous or unacceptable conditions, we promptly report and address them. We believe that transparency and ethical behavior are fundamental to responsible environmental management.

Our agile and flexible working policy, including hybrid work arrangements, allows our employees to reduce their travel footprint, contributing to our overall efforts to minimize our environmental impact. We remain committed to meeting the evolving expectations of our customers, employees, and the wider community and operating as a responsible business.

We also realize that the future of business depends on educating the decision-makers and current and next generation of leaders to prioritize sustainability to benefit society and the planet. So, one of our goals is to raise awareness about sustainability opportunities and challenges. For this purpose, GEC became a co-founder of the Institute of Sustainable Development (ISD) in Georgia. We were involved both in the foundation stage and in the subsequent maintenance and development stage. Since its establishment, we have continued to support institutes' initiatives and help in organizational development. The ISD includes the educational platform Sustainability.ge, the Sustainable Glossary, the Eco-Map, Talks on Sustainability, and other projects, the implementation of which is ensured by GEC. The ISD has a holacracy management style, which was interesting to us as one of the first Georgian organizations to use this principle.

By co-founding ISD, the goal of GEC is to raise public awareness and support educational initiatives concerning corporate sustainability and sustainable development. We want to serve as a bridge to connect people interested in contributing to the well-being of society, conducting ethical business, and helping create a positive, long-lasting impact.
